Breckenridge, Colorado

• • • The Highlands at Breckenridge is located on a ridge that provides dramatic views of the Ten Mile Range and the world-class Breckenridge Ski Area. The 1,200-acre property is heavily wooded with pine, aspen and spruce, and is interspersed with meadows of wildflowers and protected wetlands areas that provide a natural habitat for birds, red fox, elk and deer. The northern portion of the community is structured around an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed championship golf course, expanded to 27 holes in 2001. This is the only municipally developed Jack Nicklaus signature course in the United States. The Breckenridge Golf Club has received a number of honors over the years, and is perennially ranked among the top five resort courses in Colorado. Project development began in 1994, and was completed in 2006, providing homesites for local professionals, as well as for Breckenridge visitors seeking second homes.

• • • The community represents much of the remaining developable area within the Town of Breckenridge and will ultimately include approximately 950 units, primarily single-family custom homesites.

• • • The Highlands project is a joint venture with the Rounds' family interests. The Rounds are founders of the Breckenridge Ski Area and prominent landholders within the community. The venture's financial partner is a subsidiary of Crescent Real Estate Equities, Inc., of Fort Worth, Texas.
