LAHONTAN
North Lake Tahoe, California

• • • Development of Lahontan began in 1996, and since then, the community has evolved into one of the most outstanding and exclusive golf communities in the western United States. In fact, homesites at Lahontan were sold out by the end of 2000 — 509 homesites in four years. In 2008 Travel+Leisure Golf Magazine listed it as one of "America's Top 100 Golf Communities."

• • • The 907-acre ranch property just north of Lake Tahoe is an extraordinary expanse of majestic pine forest, spring-fed meadows, scenic wetlands and rugged ridges. Approximately one-half of the property is dedicated to the golf course and natural open space. The championship course, designed by Tom Weiskopf, weaves naturally and carefully through the magnificent landscape. Weiskopf has called Lahontan the best site he's worked on in the United States. In 1999, it was voted by Golf Digest as one of the best new private courses in America. Golfers are encouraged to use caddies, because walking the course creates a pure golf experience and enables one to fully appreciate the spectacular mountain vistas that frame every hole. Playing golf at Lahontan became even more pleasurable for all generations with the addition of a Tom Weiskopf-designed nine-hole par-three course in 2001.

• • • Situated along a picturesque ridge, the Lodge and Spa comprise the community's exquisite, three-building club complex. This Greg Faulkner design features massive beams and glacier-carved stones that echo the region's architectural heritage.

• • • While building on the venerable character of traditional Tahoe resort lodges and family estates, Lahontan has set a new standard for the area, and even created an architectural look that has become known as the Lahontan style. The community's other distinctive amenities include Camp Lahontan, a five-acre family recreation and activity center along the shores of Gooseneck Reservoir; The Turn refreshment center between the 9th and 10th holes on the golf course; the Boathouse on the lake at the 12th hole; the Picnic Pavilion on the par-three course; and a series of other neighborhood parks and trails.

• • • Lahontan is a joint venture with DMB Associates, one of Arizona's most respected real estate development and investment firms.
