SINGLETREE
Edwards, Colorado

• • • Located 14 miles west of Vail, Colorado, Singletree was begun in 1978 and is notable for a one-day sellout of its entire second filing (218 lots) just one year later.

• • • The golf course around which this thriving community is built was designed by Jay Morrish and Robert Cupp, who were then members of Golforce, a Jack Nicklaus design firm. The course opened in 1981 and has hosted the Jerry Ford Invitational, as well as the USGA's 1987 Junior Amateur Championship and the 2001 Colorado Open. In 1988, Golf Digest included Singletree in its 50 best resort golf courses in the nation.

• • • The property encompasses 770 acres, and was initially planned for just over 1,000 custom homesites, duplexes and townhomes. Land planning by Gage Davis and a clubhouse designed by William Zmistowski were vital in creating an environment desirable to local residents searching for a primary residence, and Vail Valley visitors seeking a year-round second home.

• • • The Singletree Golf Club is now known as the Sonnenalp Country Club.
